Surviving College 101

RULE #5 - Never, ever talk to a cute guy right before a class.

Disorientation and/or a major case of distracted-student symptom will occur.

Damn hormones.
(Btw, by cute, I mean whoever you're attracted to. My cute may not equal your cute.)

I've known 3 Daniels - I dated one and was definitely, definitely attractted to the other two. Huh. Plus, they all look pretty similar; same build, dark hair, certain type of features. Hmmm.. is there a connection, ya think ? By George (i just love saying that) I think I've found my "type" ! uhm.. now what.

Oh, and if you can't read between the lines, I met a hot guy named Daniel today lol.

ima just chuggin' along.

HAHA ! oh man, that merdeka day really was SOMETHING eh ! OOh, and we'd have a heck of a story to tell our grandkids someday huh ??

and GEEZ, small talk. tell me about it.. i try to avoid it if possible but lately that is proving to be somewhat inevitable.

it's now day 3 of the new college semester.. been seeing all sorts of new, old, kinda familiar and somewhat familiar faces. i actually expected more new faces though. i think i've only seen a couple of 'em here and there. oh, and apparently s o nia's transferred over to inti too but haven't seen the likes of her around either. haha. talk about out-of-the-blue eh ?

so, i've taken up American History and Public Speaking this sem.. YEAH. pfft ! what was i thinking right ? HISTORY ??? and speaking in PUBLIC !? i think i was drugged. and obviously, with the kind of luck i have, on the first day of PS class itself we were all suppose to give this impromptu introduction of ourselves without being hi. mynameis___andihaveshitsforbrains .. and all that. lecturer wanted us to be creative with it to test our level or something. i actually had all the facts down and kinda planned on saying something short and sweet i think. but i totally BLANKED when i stood there. HA HA. think i mumbled something about pastries then uh.. yeah. shitshtishtishihts idiot. IDIOT.

it was so FUBAR.

argh. anyway, moving on.

first day of history with mr. borgeos was fine though. he's VERY enthusiastic about american history for one thing. hmm, never thought anyone can like history that much. i think he scares most of us quite a bit cos he's pretty strict and has rules for just about everything. though, i kinda find him to be also somewhat endearing really. oh, and he kinda reminds C of Whitey, the coach from One Tree Hill. lol !

that was just a rough summary of how day one of college went. hmm, ohandbtw im thinking of calling you sometime soon N. when will be a good time ?? i went and bought myself an iTALK card ! wheeee ! much to update you on. :)

get back to me yeah.
and i'll put up more pics when i get around to uploading it from my camera. yeh.

soul eating virus

Hangin out with all these new people.. it makes me miss hangin out with the people back home even more. Char, Wen, Pin, Bo and all y'all.. the people who've known me for ages and ages, even before I developed a personality, which was around '01 :P It's still a work-in-progress, though. I can't remember the last time I didn't feel completely at ease with you guys. Scratch that, not just at ease - completely me. I actually think I'm even more myself when I'm with y'all. ( "ya'll" is really starting to grow on me - can you tell ? )
I'm not saying that hangin out with Deborah and everyone else isn't fun. It's been awesome. As great as they are though, it's still in the getting-to-know-you stage. Huh. Can you remember that stage with us, Cha ? Wen ? I can't. Chalk it up to either my bad memory or pre-destined friendship haha. A little bit of both ? :D Anywhoo.. I was telling Deb about prom back home and how Israk screwed up with Gavin. Twice. Lol. And about dancing with Haziq, and the butterflies.. those damn butterflies. (99.9% sure that phase is O-V-E-R though. As dead as roadkill. Holla-mah-llujah.) Oh and about that funny Merdeka night at Sunway Hotel. No worries, I left out most of the gory details lol. But it made me miss you guys even more and being with people I was 110% comfy with and not have to bother about small talk or whatever. It's still fun.. but it's not the same, ya know ? That's all I wanted to get off my chest. Speaking of, I wouldn't mind going down a cup size.
P.S - Stranger in a Strange Land. Read it. You'll love it. I uhh.. "grok" it :D

unpretty

Way back when
she was pretty,
prettier, prettiest -
she was all
Now
she is all
but dust

uh oh....

um. so, the blog's kinda been acting up.. gonna go tweak it a bit. so, this one's just temporary yeah. :)

the first day.

Yeeaaah.. I remember those sweet friday nights.. (sigh) every friday, every week. Bliss :) Remember the food ? Remember the movies ? Remember when we'd wake up and ta-dah! - there was breakfast, on the table.. waiting for us. Nasi lemak ! Roti canai ! Apam ! Awww.. I miss W's house. We had some great times. We grew up there.

On a different note, at least I know I didn't miss much by not visiting Alamanda before I left lol.

Anywaaaaay, today was the first day of class. All the professors kept it short and sweet. In my U.S History class, the prof asked if we knew who it was that dictated that we're recquired to take a full year of U.S History. In most states, students are allowed to choose the kind of history they want to learn, e.g, European History, World History, etc. One guy uncertainly suggested "Bush?" Nope. Wrong answer. Unfortunately, no one knew the right answer. So here's the reality of 60% of our generation - we blindly allow other people to dictate our lives, with no clue who's pulling the strings. Even the language most of us speak - English. Why English ? Because it was forced on us by another culture for reasons of convienience. Thus, contributing to the extinction of several languages around the world. Anyway, the answer to the professor's Q was, the state of Texas.

So, another day, another lesson. So what's in store tmr ? 2 classes, then lunch with Deborah. More updates soon. Maybe even pics lol.

my week

so the holidays have been good :) haven't done much of what i intended to do.. lol. like clean my room, spruce it up, meet lotsa people i haven't seen in a bit, shop, join a gym.. lol. basically all my plans.. dunno what i've been doing to waste the time away.. but it just passes, real fast. one more week to go, then it'll be hectic again. kinda looking forward to it, like W (we are a tad weird)

let's see, i forgot what i did on monday... but tuesday and wednesday was hanging out at W's crib (like we always do,hehe) where would we be without her crib? all the dinners, sleepovers, friday get-togethers, prank calls, celebrations (birthdays, new years, merdeka, etc) and umm, the occasional dancing. haha. we've practically grown up in her house, even though its not ours.. lol.
i can't believe we actually managed to keep the friday get-togethers going for two years.. every friday without fail man. i say thats some commitment. haha

then off to thursday, down to klang for bak kut teh with college mates. and doood, it was goooooood bak kut teh. esp the dry bak kut teh, which is like a klang specialty. (sorry, forgot to take pictures again, maybe W has some) then we went to pyramid to hang out, monster house is a pretty good movie. i loike it. then met up with jun aaaaaaand spent like thurday night, friday and saturday with jun. was our 8th month on sat :D so WOO HOO ! we went down to kl, went around klcc and bukit bintang.. had dinner with his friends at alexis, atmos there is so awesome! gonna take u bebehs there wei! really good live band (girl singer too) and people there actually sang along. food's pretty good too (a lil overcharged) but it all adds up to a good night out.
sunday! went to alamanda (finally!) with W, P, Jun, Foo THE ASSWIPE (he keeps calling me the B word in his blog, so yeah :/) and Geney. well, the asswipe will prolly do a whole post with loads of pictures, coz u know he just will. haha. so check out his blog.. took us bloody long to find alamanda, and we were freakin hungry that we were getting a lil grumpy. hehe.. the buildings there are awesome, and the roads, so CLEAN that u wouldnt mind rolling around on them. haha. but damn those traffic lights, their everywhere! go like 100 m, and there's a traffic light, another 150m, and there u go, another one. lol. buuuut, almanda was a super let down. basically it consist of 2 floors. TWO ! LG AND G. pah! nothing much there.. food wasnt that good too, or prolly cause we couldn't find any of the restaurants and settled for the food court. its like we would follow the sign pointing straight, till we'd reach the end of the building and then you'll be wondering if the arrow is actually pointing straight or up. so we went up, no restaurants there, went forward, no restaurants there. its like they all were freaking non exsistant! and u know where they were all at ?!?!?! OUTSIDE! yeah, we sat down at the food court and ordered food and i was looking outside and i saw the restaurant we were looking for in the first place aaaaaaaaaaaall the way outside. crapshitaniajdpasjdasndlajsdasf. karma. was a nice road trip tho :) thanks to all who went, was kinda last minute, but yeah, thats us..

gonna check out celeb fitness with W tmr (hopefully gonna sign up there) hang out with the parents and get my car from the workshop. it's all better now. cost my dad a whooping RM860 :P i'll be sure to buy him a ferrari when im a rich CEO. koff.. and somehow everyone's got their results!!! i haven't received mine, poop. hopefully i'll get it tmr, if not i think it's just faith that i don't find out. wish me luck ;) tell ya what i get if its not tooooooo embarassing.

I think we need more pictures. Sooooooooo.. take more pictures!

i love it when you call me Big Poppa

I've never noticed the odd things my mother says. Probably because after 16+ years of living with her, all those "odd" statements seem normal lol. Lately though, it seems kinda obvious 'cause Dave points it out. Then we're like, "Ohh yeaaah.. That is kinda weird." Like, for example, (redundant, yes, but whatever) we were driving home from a movie late last night (friday night movies. It's becoming a thing) and Dave notices we're out of gas. So she's goes, "Oh noo.. luckily, it's dark." So we went, "Uh.. So what if it's dark ?" Mom says, "So people won't recognize us when we're pushing the car." LMAO. Yes, her mind works in mysterious ways. Oh, wait, I have another story. Okay, Mom's pretty much over the whole 'housewife' thang. Ya know, cooking, cleaning, etc ( btw, I've created a chore chart so everyone pretty much helps out ). So a couple days ago, she was saying how it sucks that she has to make lunch everyday and she goes, in all seriousness, "Do we have to eat everyday?" So I went, "That's okay, Mom, we can starve." Huh. Well it's not that funny when I tell it. It's one of those 'you had to be there' moments. :D

Anyyywhooo.. I had orientation on the 24th. It's was kinda fun. Met a couple people - Deborah and Wendy. The funny part was that Deborah's Jewish, Wendy's Christian and I'm Muslim, lol. I feel like we should walk into a bar or something haha. Deborah's from Brussels (is that how it's spelt?) and has a reaaaaaaaaallly cool french acccent and Wendy's from Texas with no texas accent. Well, she does say Y'all. Sooo.. anyway, we hung out for a bit, talked a whole lot (told them about W and C ;) ) and ran into this cute Brazillian guy. I met him a couple days before and he's nice. Really friendly lol. Wendy gave him her number( via me, of course. Is this how girls in the U.S operate ? lol. So not my thing) and they went out yeterday. Ohhh. Just remembered I'm supposed to call her to ask how it went.

Oh hey, we're looking at paint chips to figure out what colour to paint my room. Any suggestions ?
(W + C)

Aaaaand.. I think we should add an explanation about the colour of the text in the About Us section. Something like
  • Green - W
  • Blue - C
  • Purple - N

Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secured

hey y'all. so it's the second week of the holidays. one more week to go... wheeee.

been desperately trying to get the hols to end by doing just about, oh.. EVERYTHING. sad huh ? i guess im just so bored.. it's as if everyday is (almost) becoming somewhat ROUTINE-like. and you know how much i hate that.. so this is how my average holiday day goes:

alarm rings, really early. (psfht, yeah.. i dont even get to sleep in :/). go out. run errands; example: pay bills, gets crapos, go to the post office, go to the bank. fix tv. fulfill duties which [apparently] any good/obedient eldest daughter should by being dad's PA/ mom's shopping buddy/driver. escape by heading to nearest mall. browse. window shop. walk around. find an excuse to walk around even more. pick and/or send wei to and/or from.. where ever (class, school, dentist, friend's etc..). come home. watch a teenybopper drama series. KO.

hmm.. and i thought i had a few more good years before the whole responsibility and "being an adult" thing kicked in.
bah.

I know that it's wrong to complain. I mean, everyone's gonna have to grow up sometime soon right? responsibilities.. part and parcel of life ? yadda yadda.. but I need this. ranting. It's like a sort of outlet for me. Remember therapeutic? :)

im so gonna kick myself for thinking this but i kinda miss college. yeah, um.. even all that college stress. You know.. worrying about due dates, presentations, um. parking ? .. and all that jazz. god, the loser-ness of me. haha! Though, It beats having to line up at the market behind assholes/getting stuck in traffic on the way to the bank. Ugh. I'd stick with school.

Anywho! I've got the list of songs you need to make the.. (in my opinion) PERFECT mix CD of the month for driving around/chilling out to/whatever.

XOXOXOXOXOXOo wen

goat meat

have you ever wondered what goat meat is like?

if your thinking "oh, goat meat .. isn't that like mutton or lamb?" lol, then what's sheep meat? so yups, goat meat is goat meat. no fancy pansy name for it. it is said to taste like veil. so if u have ever wondered, just like i did last night, what is goat meat called and why don't they serve it on our menus (which i still haven't found the answer too, but assumptions made from W and I is that it prolly doesn't taste good and is not so well liked by malaysians) there is still no confirmed answer. so for now , we shall just ponder and wait for someone (us perhaps?) to start selling goat meat dishes to find out how goat meat tastes like.

saw nacho libre.. was pretty funny. i liked it..
so me and Jun were watching it in those twin seats at the back of the cinema and these two men dressed in office clothes sit in the two seats next to us. Jun pratically turned and looked at me in the weirdest way, imposing that maybe they were gay. the minute they sat down, they were laughing like crazy and darn loud too. it was pretty funny seeing both them grown men, sitting in twin love seats, laughing like they were watching the funniest movie ever made.

pictures for your thoughts :)

i want one!

the menace.

Did I tell you guys about our neigbour Ben ? Reel your tongue back in, he's not the 'hot neighbour' type. He's a kid. And not a particularly pleasant one :P

We invited his family over to swim. The dad's pretty cool and the 15-yr-old twins are okay. Then, Ben asked if he could sleep over. I was all for it 'cause it'd give my brothers a chance to make a friend, which hasn't been easy for them. Then's when the little devil showed his horns. For reasons unknown, he checked out EVERY room in the house. Even the bathrooms. Looking for gold, probably. Then, he spent the whole night yelling at the tv, keeping everyone awake. When I finally did make it to lala-land, bliss didn't last very long. I woke up and found the little horned-one himself, sitting on me ! Wtf ! We finally got rid of him by lending him a few dvds. Ugh. Never agaaaaaiiin. The really suck-y part ? Dave knew all about the kid's bad habits but didn't feel the need to bloody WARN US. Turns out, a couple years ago, Dave had a party and invited Ban's parents. Halfway through the party, Ben casually walks in, grabs the marshmellows from the pantry, then leaves. Interesting kid.

My oasis.

Success ! After exploring more houses than I can count, we've found the perfect one. It's gorgeous.. Unique layout, 3 fireplaces, a salt-water pool with a diving board, and a deck in the backyard overlooking the creek. Did I metion the gorgeous trees ? Well, I just did. Beautiful trees in the front and backyard. The place even makes us feel like we're not in flat, barren Dallas anymore. I mean, there's a creek in the backyard ffs. The best part ? The room I picked out. It was actually designed as a media room but I fell in love with it and saw it as an awesome bedroom so I negotiated with my mom. And miracles of miracles, she let me have it ! It's pretty big. Well, big enough for the furniture I have in mind. I have my heart set on a round bed - Hugh Hefner style lol. Only, mine won't rotate and vibrate. Ohhh.. it also has a bar. Mmm, don't I feel like a P-I-M-P.

hbo, cinemax, star movies

i just LOVE those three channels . unlimited movies, movies that you wouldn't think of watching in the cinema or even buying the dvd, super duper old movies which we've forgetten.. they just play em all. i cannot express my love for the tv.. its one of the most brilliant things in the world (up there with food, water and clothes, mind you) it keeps me entertained for hours as well as puts me to bed. well, i've been sitting at home just watching tv (sad, u might think, but oh how i love it!) and i just love it when you think there's nothing else to watch and suddenly a movie catches ure attention and ure able to catch it right when its starting and it turns out to be a good movie. very satisfying.

i just saw a movie with jared padalecki or dean as we like to call him, and he wasnt the main cast, but i was suprised to see him there. haha. the main actor was dennis quaid and there was the guy who played pheobe's (frm friends) brother. yeah , that kinda weird looking guy. and he had blonde hair and he played the controlling guy who turned out to be really smart (he planned how to build an aeroplane out of their aeroplane which crashed in the desert) yeah , who would have guessed he'd play a role like that. he usually plays the goofy guy or smth.. haha. so yeah, that movie was pretty interesting.. ending was a happy one, where the plane took off and they all lived.

so okay. more randomness to come. keep on coming back people, or more like W and N.
lovey dovey you ho's !

blasphemy!

My mom was suffering from muscle discomfort the other day and I, caring, considerate daughter that I am, offered to massage her. Lo and behold - under my expert touch, she was cured ! Free of pain, free of discomfort - mild or otherwise ! Naturally, I dubbed my hands the hands of God.. or at least one of God's gift to man(and woman)kind. Which is probably blasphemous, I know.. but I've got the Touch and by George (who the hell is George ? and while we're at it, who's Betsy ?) I intend to advertise ! And charge. A reasonable fee, of course :) So, in respect and support of my enterprising ways, Mommy paid me 15 dollars. Thus, my fortune has taken shape. Thank you, God, for thy blessed gift.

Hommage to Barbie

Omg you're first accident ! Thank God for seat belts. Damn cabbies. What'd your daddy say ?

I was just thinking about Cal's zebra shirt and shiny raincoat pants. LMAO. Do we have a picture of that ?

So.. college starts in a couple weeks. Wish me luck. I had to go through all kinds of tests. The latest one included an essay about the play difference between Babie dolls and baby dolls. So, naturally, I wrote about normal stuff.. ya know, like, Barbies promote the superficial views of society, putting pressure on the younger generation to shape themselves according to the "ideal" body, making disorders like bulimia and anorexia common in this modern day and age. Stuff like that. Damn, feels like I'm back in school already.

A couple days ago, we went to dinner at the Strables' (this really cool German family) and I hung out with Anna (a German exhange student) and we got to talking. Found out we have pretty much the same taste in guys lol. Anywayy.. where she comes from, the kids (meaning, ppl our age :P) are divided into Tokio Hotel (German rock band) fans and fans of some Blue-type boyband. Plus, tattoos and piercings are pretty common. Yum. What is it about the bad-boy thing that is so damn appealing ? lol. Okay, it's hot if it's not too extreme. I draw the line at eyeliner :P Notice how the word GERMAN is in every sentence ? Since Dave (figured I'd have to drop the "uncle" sometime, so I'm working my way up to it. First cyberspace, then real-life. Verbally.) lived in a Germany for awhile, he feels a deep love for all things german and instantly bonds with German and german-speaking people alike. Yes, that man has issues but who doesn't ? I, for example, feel very deeply about sushi. And cats. And babies. And cats that have babies.

So, baby girls, have fun during your break. And plan the end of the year trip. We could do something really cool.. ski even. Losta love from your relocated best friend.

Octopus Sex and Other Stories.

elloo eloe olloe eloeoe oeloe.

morning.

i'm thinking of going for a haircut sometime soon. i have lion hair now and that's NEVER a good thing. so, the big question here is short or LONG ????

it's mid length now (i think?) so should i chop off my hair like how i'd normally do it (yawn) ORRRRR should i leave it be and let it grow into an unmanagable mess of tangled-ness ?? ...yes, this IS indeed one of life's most arduous questions. oh dear, what ever will i do ??

get back to me on this yes ?

oh, and before i go.. im gonna leave you all with this intriguing and somewhat disturbing excerpt of my biology book. enjoy !

The couple are clearly interested in each other. He caresses her with one
tentacle, then another- then another and another. She reciprocates with a hug
here, a squeeze there. This goes on for hours. Finally the male reaches under
his mantle, a tissue fold that drapes around most of his body. He removes a
packet of sperm and inserts it into an egg chamber under the female's mantle.
For every sperm that fertilizes an egg, a new octopus may develop.

hehe. get this book. it's really quite enjoyable.
